IPTV device compatibility is determined by the operating system of the device the subscription will be used on, its app support and connection conditions. On this page the setup path, player approach and points to watch for are compared in a single table for 11 device families; you can then verify which steps apply to your own device under four headings.
IPTV compatibility is not determined by a single criterion; the device's operating system, app installation options and player support are assessed together. Televisions and mobile devices with an app store can install a player directly; on models without store support, an external playback device connected via HDMI is used. How broadcasting works is explained, step by step, on the IPTV technology page.
The second heading is the login method: the M3U list or Xtream Codes login details shared within the subscription are defined in the player you use, and the channel list and programme guide are loaded at this step. The third heading is the connection; the same subscription can give different results on different devices because wireless network quality and the number of screens in the home affect playback smoothness. You can see which device family suits your use from the comparison table below and from the device pages.
Compatibility check
The table below summarises which route setup follows depending on the device family, what is required on the player side and which points should be checked in advance. The rows are not a ranking; each device family is assessed for its own usage scenario, and differences in model and operating system version can change the details.
| Device | Setup path | Player approach | Points to watch for |
|---|---|---|---|
| TelevisionSmart TV | A suitable player is installed from the television's app store; on models without store support, an external playback device is added via HDMI. | Players listed in the store that support the M3U list and Xtream Codes login are used. | The player list changes with the brand and model year; it is recommended that you confirm the model before setup. |
| TelevisionSamsung TV | A player is installed from the Samsung television's own store, the login details are defined and the channel list is refreshed. | On the television side, store apps; if there is no store support, the players of an external playback device are assessed. | The operating system version and model year affect the content of the store; the external device option requires a separate setup. |
| TelevisionLG TV | A player is installed from the LG television's app store; on older models, an external device connected via HDMI is assessed. | Players from within the store; the login method is chosen according to the format the player supports. | On players that request a setup code, the activation step is completed on the television screen. |
| Television / BoxAndroid TV | A player is installed from the app store; for players that are not in the store, sideloading options come into play. | Android-based players; an interface suited to remote control use is preferred. | Permission to install apps from unknown sources must be set in advance if sideloading is to be done. |
| TelevisionGoogle TV | A player is installed from the app store in the Google TV interface and the login details are defined. | Players in the store; profile and recommendation screens do not affect the playback flow. | If more than one profile is used, the profile in which the setup was done should be noted. |
| External Playback DeviceFire TV / Firestick | A player is installed from the store; for players that are not in the store, sideloading is done through a helper app. | Players operated with a remote control; the favourites list and programme guide layout are managed from the player settings. | The storage space and update status should be checked; the sideloading step should be done together with the support team. |
| External Playback DeviceApple TV | A player is installed from the app store; alternatively, mirroring from a phone via AirPlay can be used. | Store players; in the mirroring method the player runs on the phone side. | The phone needs to stay on during mirroring; a direct player installation works more stably. |
| MobileAndroid Phone / Tablet | A player is installed from the mobile store and the login details are defined; setup takes a few minutes. | Players suited to touch use; the screen lock and background usage should be configured. | Mobile data consumption is high; a wireless network should be preferred where possible. |
| MobileiPhone and iPad | A player is installed from the app store, or from the iPhone it is mirrored to the television via AirPlay. | iOS-compatible players; being on the same wireless network is required for mirroring. | If split screen is used on an iPad, picture quality may drop; full screen should be preferred. |
| ComputerWindows PC | A desktop player or browser-based player is installed; the M3U list is added to this app. | Media players and desktop IPTV apps; window size together with hardware acceleration settings. | Firewall and antivirus software can block the stream connection; an exception should be defined. |
| ComputerMac | A desktop player or browser-based player suited to the macOS version is used. | Desktop players that support the M3U list; the option of casting to an external screen can also be considered. | Some players request a security approval; system warnings should be read during setup. |
The points summarised in the table are generalised by device family; detailed setup steps are listed on each device page. For conditions that apply regardless of the device (duration options, the 3-hour trial and the 3-day refund), see the IPTV prices and refund and subscription terms page.
A compatibility check does not require a long test; identifying the device family to be used, looking at store and player support, choosing the login method and planning the number of screens are enough. The four steps below show which information needs to be clear before buying.
Make it clear whether the screen on which viewing will happen is a television, an external playback device, a phone/tablet or a computer. In some homes the television does not offer store support; in that case setup is planned through an external device connected via HDMI.
Search for an IPTV player in the device's app store. If no player is listed, external playback device options come into play; you can see which device page suits you from the comparison table above.
The M3U list or Xtream Codes details shared within the subscription are defined in the player to be used. If watching on more than one screen at the same time is planned, the fact that a subscription is required per screen should be calculated from the start.
Once the channels, favourites list and programme guide are loaded, open a short test stream; check channel switching, picture quality and connection stability. Doing this test during the trial period shows possible problems early.
The flow on this page provides a general framework; the steps of each device family are described in detail on their own page. For the complete setup, see the IPTV setup guide, for player options IPTV apps and for list setup steps M3U setup page.
The points below collect what should be checked regardless of the device; the check in each row makes the common problems that may be met during setup visible in advance.
| Check item | Why it matters | How to check |
|---|---|---|
| BasicOperating system version and update status | On out-of-date versions some players do not install or run in an unstable way. | Check the system information and update section in the device settings; apply the updates the manufacturer provides. |
| CompatibilityApp store or sideloading support | If the player cannot be installed, the IPTV stream cannot be opened. | Search for an IPTV player in the store; if nothing comes up, consider external playback devices such as Fire TV / Firestick or Android TV . |
| PlayerM3U and Xtream Codes support | If the login method is not supported, the channel list cannot be added to the player. | Check the login format the player you are considering supports; IPTV Smarters and TiviMate pages' headings show the way. |
| ConnectionConnection type and stability | Fluctuations in the wireless network can cause the stream to freeze. | Use an ethernet cable where suitable; on wireless, check the signal strength and the number of devices on the network: Wi-Fi problems. |
| ScopeNumber of simultaneous screens | Watching on a second screen at the same time requires a separate subscription per screen. | Determine the number of screens to be used and compare the headings on the single-device IPTV and multi-connection IPTV pages. |
| UsageProgramme guide (EPG) and list refresh | An out-of-date list or guide makes channel search and broadcast planning harder. | Refresh the channel list and the programme guide from the player settings; for the steps, see the EPG setup page. |
The points in the table summarise checks that apply regardless of the device; because setup steps change by device family, they should be read together with the device pages. For the subscription terms, see the IPTV prices and refund and subscription terms page.
Whichever family the device belongs to, the subscription scope is offered in the same structure: a single simultaneous device, three duration options and access to the channel list and programme guide. When the number of devices or screens increases, the total amount is calculated as many times as the number of subscriptions.
3-month subscription
30 EUR single simultaneous device
For testing device compatibility and for short-term use.
6-month subscription
50 EUR single simultaneous device
For those planning medium-term use after setup.
12-month subscription
80 EUR single simultaneous device
The lowest monthly cost for long-term use on a fixed screen.
Subscriptions are defined for a single simultaneous connection. Users who want to watch on a second device at the same time need a separate subscription per device.
For 2 devices the total is 60 EUR for 3 months, 100 EUR for 6 months and 160 EUR for 12 months; for 3 devices it is calculated as 90 / 150 / 240 EUR.
The trial period is 3 hours and the refund period for subscriptions is 3 days. The details of the terms are on the refund and subscription terms page.
To compare the duration options, see the IPTV prices, for package headings IPTV packages, for trial terms IPTV trial and for multi-screen use multi-connection IPTV pages.
IPTV is used on devices that can install an app or run a player: Smart TV models with an app store, external playback devices such as Fire TV Stick and Android TV Box, Apple TV, Android and iOS phones/tablets, and Windows and macOS computers. The decisive criterion is being able to use a player on the device that supports an M3U list or Xtream Codes login.
Start by searching for an IPTV player in the device's app store. If there is no store, or no player is listed in the search, the device needs to be used together with an external playback device. You can share the brand, model and operating system version to get a compatibility confirmation before buying; this check reduces the mismatches that may come up during setup.
On these models the solution is not the television's own software but an external playback device connected via HDMI: Fire TV Stick, Android TV Box or Apple TV. The external device is plugged into the television's HDMI port, a suitable player is installed from its own store, and the subscription login details are defined on this device. The details of the steps are covered on the device pages and in the IPTV setup guide.
Picture quality is determined by the broadcast resolution of the channel, the connection speed and network congestion as well as the device. Whether 4K broadcasts are available depends on the subscription scope and the channel; 4K support on the device alone is not enough. For this reason, it is recommended that you test channel switching and picture quality on your own connection during the trial period.
Subscriptions are defined for 1 simultaneous device. To watch on a second screen at the same time, a separate subscription is taken per device: the total for 2 devices is calculated as 60 EUR for 3 months, 100 EUR for 6 months and 160 EUR for 12 months.
Because the subscription is defined according to the number of simultaneous connections, a player is installed on the new device and the login details are defined in that player; if you need to watch on two screens at the same time, a second subscription is required. Duration options and scope headings are listed on the package and price pages, and the terms are set out on the refund and subscription terms page.
First check the steps on the page for the device you will use; the IPTV setup guide and EPG setup pages then complete the general flow. If the stream will not open or keeps buffering, you can look at the support pages covering connection and wireless network checks, and get help from the support team by sharing your device model.
If your answer is not here, you can check the step-by-step descriptions on the device pages and the scope headings on the single-device IPTV and multi-connection IPTV pages.
